First Foundation proudly recognizes Rebecca “Becca” Curtright, Compensation Manager at our Indian Wells Office in California, as our Volunteer of the Month! For the past 12 years, Rebecca has been an essential member of our Accounting team. Her unwavering commitment to excellence in her work has significantly impacted our community. We celebrate her dedication and contributions!
Becca’s passion for helping others shines through her volunteer position as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Shay's Warriors. In this role, she supports initiatives that empower individuals and their families impacted by cancer through health, fitness, and the mind-body connection. She assists with fundraising, manages the organization’s financials and tax returns, and volunteers at various events year-round and at the Annual Cancer Survivors Retreat. She helps set up and facilitate all programs and activities during this four-day event.
Additionally, Becca serves as a committee member and advisor for The Bianca Rae Foundation, which focuses on improving children's and animals' lives. This foundation’s main event is its youth retreat. It provides Southern California youth with a full day of mentorship and leadership classes, guiding them through school challenges, career decisions, and self-confidence building. Each holiday season, it provides financial assistance, necessities, and gifts to local needy families. These families, identified through FIND Food Bank, face urgent challenges, such as insecurity and losing everything they own in a fire.
Rebecca's interest in community service was sparked by watching her mother help neighbors by providing food and baked goods to those in need. Although her mother didn't have much to give, this small act of kindness instilled in Becca the importance of the small gestures that build and nurture community. Rebecca shares, "I was lucky to be surrounded by mentors and friends who all shared the love of giving back, so I learned from the best."
Rebecca strives to live by the creed, "To prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served." She adopted this motto during her college years, perfectly reflecting her values. In appreciation of her efforts, Rebecca has chosen Shay's Warriors to receive a $100 donation on her behalf. Thank you for all you do, Becca! You are truly making this world a brighter place through your community service.
